Hi, my name is Mack

Mack’s first job, at 15, was at Rogers Video, where the free rentals served as his version of film school. He went on to study Communication at SFU with the intention of becoming a journalist. But living in Vancouver gave Mack a front-row seat to the film industry and his career aspirations changed to becoming a documentary producer and director.

His first documentary film, This Ink Runs Deep, which he wrote and produced, premiered at TIFF and is streaming on CBC Gem. He recently produced a feature-length documentary for Telus Originals about Olympic snowboarder Spencer O'Brien called Precious Leader Woman, which won the Audience Choice Award at BANFF. He produced a short doc called Joe Buffalo, which won the audience choice award at SXSW, was nominated for an International Documentary Award and is showing on The New Yorker’s website.

Mack's directorial debut, the short film called In a New Light, premiered at the Whistler Film Festival in 2021. He is currently directing a series for CBC about Web3 and the Metaverse and a 45 minute film about sustainable fishing families on BC’s west coast.

Mack has a passion for telling true stories that have the power to make a change in the social and political fabric of Canadian society.
