Hi, my name is Mackenzie

Mack got his start in film by way of free rentals at Rogers Video, where a teenage love of cinema turned into a lifelong pursuit of story. He studied Communication at Simon Fraser University and began his career in journalism before shifting into documentary production, drawn to the power of visual storytelling to inform, inspire, and drive change.

His first documentary, This Ink Runs Deep, premiered at TIFF and streamed on CBC Gem. Since then, he has produced feature-length documentaries, television series, and short films that have screened at SXSW, TIFF, BANFF, Tribeca, and The New Yorker. Notable projects include Joe Buffalo (SXSW Audience Award, IDA-nominated), Precious Leader Woman (BANFF Audience Award), and In a New Light (Whistler Film Festival).

He has worked with CBC, ESPN, Telus Originals, The New Yorker, and national brands like Audi, Kraft, and TaylorMade. Whether producing high-end broadcast documentaries or low-budget explainers, Mack brings a producing-first mindset rooted in editorial rigor, logistical precision, and audience impact.

He is passionate about building content systems, collaborating across teams, and using storytelling as a tool for clarity, especially in science, technology, and social impact.
